In October 2008, I had just had my third baby in three years and was understandably a little heavier than I wanted to be. I was also finding myself reaching for food almost compulsively, whether I was bored, depressed, anxious or any of several other emotions because it was there and it seemed to be "calling my name." I thought I just lacked the discipline to say no, and I was beginning to think I would never overcome my overwhelming desire to eat refined sugars and processed junk food.

Then we went on a family vacation that included my sister-in-law Jennifer Lloyd who happens to be a Certified Live Well Coach in Denver, CO. She had mentioned the products before, but something about talking with her in person and trying the samples she gave me really seemed to pique my interest. I was willing to give it a try and see how it worked for me.

I started on the RESET in early November and weighed 165lbs. After the RESET, I went to Phase I with 2 shakes and 1 bar per day, and the Essentials. I lost the weight that I wanted but the biggest difference this time was the loss of cravings.

I found that when I stayed true to the USANA program, I didn't battle the compulsive eating nearly as much. In addition, I found that the headaches I had suffered from for years had diminished significantly. I also added exercise to my healthy lifestyle, working out about 4 days a week.

By early February, I reached my goal weight of 150lbs, and have been able to maintain it through exercise, Phase II and the Essentials. I have found ways to make the shakes that I truly look forward to every day. For breakfast I blend the Vanilla Nutrimeal with water, ¼ cup of strawberry kefir, 1 tsp. OptOmega oil, and frozen berries with peaches. Occasionally for a yummy dessert, I will blend 1 ½ scoops of the Chocolate Nutrimeal with fat free milk, ice, and a tiny bit of peanut butter – it tastes like I am drinking a peanut butter cup milkshake!

My husband and I went to the Bahamas to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary in May, and I was proud to wear a two-piece bathing suit knowing I looked and felt great! I am so glad I started the USANA program and learned how to permanently curb the cravings, and be in control of my own eating at last!
